I strongly support this idea. I believe that if someone is eating plant based food they are more open to the ideas and images of animal suffering because they are no longer participating in that. There is less cognitive dissonance resistance and less of a guilty defiance. Of course plant based eating for health does not involve the same level of total commitment but still cracks open the door to the truth.
Beautifully said. I agree completely. Once someone steps away from eating animals, even for health, the fog starts to lift. With less guilt and defensiveness, the heart becomes more open to the truth of animal suffering. That small shift can lead to deep transformation.
This. I was an ethical vegetarian in my early years but fell off the wagon due to a number of factors. When my health started to decline, that was what brought me to plant based eating and eventually helped me reignite and deepen my ethics around animals. Now I’m a committed vegan.
Thank you for sharing your journey. It’s powerful how health challenges can lead us back to our deeper values. Many of us take winding paths, and what matters is where we arrive. Your return to compassion and commitment to the animals is truly inspiring. Welcome home!

Exactly 🎯 We must welcome others on this path. Humans are a work in progress. Every step matters. Buddha would approve🙏
