There is room for debate over how we raise and treat animals, and yes humans are sometimes cruel.

But God created us (and most animals) as omnivores -- eating other animals is not inherently wrong. Even animals that we typically classify as herbivores actually eat a lot of other animals. Did you ever stop to consider how many ants, grasshoppers, spiders, etc., a cow eats while grazing?

You’re right that nature can be messy, and humans are technically capable of eating many things. But having the ability to eat animals doesn’t mean we should, especially when we have other choices. Unlike wild animals, we have moral agency. We can thrive without causing unnecessary harm. That is what veganism is about, choosing compassion when we can.
