Charities, nongovernmental organisations, and nonprofit organisations can be notoriously unhealthy places to work. If you can, volunteer first to catch a glimpse of life from the inside. Volunteering is also a good way to find and get work. But the most important adivice I can give is to imagine the place, role, or position and difference you wuold like to make in the future. Then, work back from there the path to that place.
