Indoctrination or Instinct: Rethinking What We Call Food
This image challenges one of the most deeply ingrained lies in our culture: that animals are food. On the left, a hen lovingly shelters her chicks, a clear image of family. On the right, a basket of vegetables, nourishment that comes without bloodshed. The juxtaposition is stark. Yet society teaches us the opposite, that sentient beings are meals, and plants are merely sides.
The caption reminds us that "animal agriculture" is not just an industry, it’s a system of indoctrination. We’re conditioned to see violence as tradition and compassion as extreme. But our instincts recognize truth: the hen protects, the plants provide.
To be on the right side of history, we must unlearn this harmful programming. Families are not food. Food does not suffer.
This image speaks a simple truth that many still deny. But once seen, it cannot be unseen. Choose empathy. Choose life. Choose vegan.
